Support GCU

Providing the platform and resources for quality education and a sustained legacy.

The Government College Umuahia Endowment Fund

GCU is committed to nurturing and equipping succeeding generations of young men with the skills they need to become global changemakers and leaders across all spheres.

Over the course of several years, GCU old boys have given their time and resources to rebuild GCU under the aegis of the Fisher Educational Development Trust.

This legacy of giving was largely inspired by our pioneer Principal, Rev. Robert Fisher, who willed the residual estate from the sale of his home and other assets in England to GCU.

The Fisher Trust is committed to ensuring GCU’s long-term sustainability and the Government College Umuahia Endowment Fund has been set up as GCU’s fundraising vehicle.

The GCU Endowment Fund is managed by a six-man Investment Committee. Eqis Capital, USA is the fund’s financial adviser, offering multi-custody options through Goldman Sachs, Schwab, Fidelity, etc. as well as access to other global fund managers.

In addition to Eqis, the Fund will also appoint European and Nigerian fund managers. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) is the Fund’s statutory auditor.

We invite old boys and friends of GCU to join us in achieving our aim by making legacy gifts or providing recurring or one-off donations to the GCU Endowment Fund.
